Howdy from West Texas

Jack Green

Hello everyone, a new old guy here; ranching furiously in West Texas. An avid lifter, I've been gathering 'stuff' for a long time; since the early 1980s. I'm interested in many aspects of our game but, especially love the hardware. Counter sales auto parts for many years in between dance bands: rock, country, jazz. Gunsmith in Houston, Tx for nearly 25 years. I guess I'm still a parts guy; DIY T-Bar row from caster and plumbing nipple.

Hi Jack. Welcome to Iron History.

Nice ingenuity on this.

I have one that is free standing that can be weighed down with plates and one that can be attached to a rack.  Sometimes I use mine with just the barbell and alternate grips and I also use a T-bar to attach to the barbell that I got a while back.

Thanks Joe S.

I had a plate load Pro-Maxima for a while; once you stepped on the diamond plate, it did not move. With the spring snap-link carabiner on the current setup, I can use different handles.

Greetings from Germany by Wolf. TX reminds me had a customer from Houston, real estate bigshot whose family is in the "money lendng biz" for 4 centuries. :)

When I met him I could not say if he was 70, 85 or several 100 years old. Just kidding a lil bit here but he had a spooky aura.

Jack,

I was in Fulda only once. My late lifting buddy Michael Brügger had a guest appearance in a gym there. He handled 617 lbs in the bench. The first german to do 280kg in the bench press ( though it was inofficial). We were there to help him.

He later did 277,5 kg officially but tore a pec with 285kg.

Thomas

My lawyer looks and laughs 1:1
holgerbauer.jpg like him. One of the few really creative lawyers. Hagmann is a German name as well. Texas appears to have many people from the fatherland.

There are more than 49 million people with German ancestry in the United States, a number that accounts for 16 percent of the American population. That's even more than claim British descent. I am outnumbered!
