My wife and I just bought a new house and I will have the pleasure of moving all my weights and equipment once again, haha.

Butch,

Unfortunately I do not. This past weekend I carried all my York Roundheads out to the garage (5lbs - 100lbs). I was smoked by the end.

Haha! Ya, no kidding. Now comes the fun part, trying to get the Nautilus Xpload Chest Press out of the basement without messing up the new paint job, and new carpet. Last time I had to take off the door moldings and door jamb to get it through!

Moving is brutal ,  Worse when you collect Iron or have a home gym , Downsized my gym quite a bit, Kept a couple benches and an old Stone power rack, That I have had for Years lying in my storage, 8 feet tall , Originally I was going to cut it down, Never got around to it, But my new cellar, Although smaller has 8 foot ceilings. Now it can stay Original. This thing is a beast , 3/8 channel Iron, and flat plate base, The  2 sides are about 200 lbs each. Keeping the Hydraulic Squat stands also. other than that mostly weights and bars, That I prefer..

I wish! Unfortunately the new house we're moving into doesn't have a walkout basement either! 🤦

However, the stairwell that leads to the basement is much wider and the basement is completely unfinished, and no door frame to battle with.

** The BIG issue I'm dealing with now is my wife is having second thoughts about me moving the Nautilus Chest Press out. We have been going back and forth about this ever since we decided to move. I've already started to remove the door molding to get it out. So it's a little late for her to have second thoughts....

Solution...

Put the gym in the living room in the new house.

:P

First off . . . nice gym! Good luck on the new house too.

I used to get an annual 'inspection' of my rented place. For the first 15 years anyhow. Had to move all my gear into two big walk in closets every year. Benches, rack, weights, aerobic stuff had to be collapsed, the whole nine yards. Oh yeah, it's a workout all right. Thank God I've been here long enough and done enough minor damage that they don't check anymore.

What the H! Like people with three little kids don't make more damage than a gym? It's prejidooce I tells ya!

I started down-sizing a little bit lately. (Not the gear I use (which is still a ton of stuff), but things that are stuck in corners that I never touch.

Sort of learned a small personal lesson from Mike B. and Reub's passing, don't leave a ton of iron lying around for your family to deal with if something happens to you.

(Mike got rid of his stuff over a year of so when he knew his fate).

Again, the stuff I use is still tons, but the stuff we stub our toe's on and dont use, slowly going a bit...

Dave,

It's smart to streamline.

There is so much stuff the baby boomers have accumulated over the years.

Most of it will end up at the local donation center.

Nobody wants all those Hummels.
