Hello From Michigan

Matt Mouser

Hello everyone,

I'm a brand new member from Michigan. I recently became interested in putting together a basement gym, and I was able to stumble into a rusty vintage York barbell set on craigslist.  While doing some research on proper restoration of the bar and plates - I came upon this forum, which I'm excited to learn from and eventually hope to contribute to.

Thank you for having this amazing resource and community.

-Matt

Welcome Matt.  Glad you are into the vintage iron.  It is a lot of fun to collect/use and you have come to the right place for obtaining information.

I may have seen the set listed that you picked up.  If it was the same one,  you now have a York bar from the 1960s (they have the wider inner collars relative to the later York bars).  Restoration is a lot of fun.  Enjoy.

Joe

Welcome Matt, finding vintage iron is a lot of fun.  It keeps me consistently working out.   Something about lifting old school iron.   Enjoy your set and welcome aboard.
