October 07, 2005 Doug Young died. Born Aug 21, 1944.

Doug in some ways regarding his build reminded me of Pisarenko the great Russian lifter- large men with waistlines under control.

Young took a lot of "vitamins" which may have helped his physical appearance.

He took frequent visits to Mexico as a railroad train conductor.

October 09, 1907. A baby names Albena was born. She would later become Mr. Albena Gaudreau, wife of Leo.

After Leo passed, I was speaking with Albena and she offered to load me some of his papers. I truly wanted to see them, but I declined in case the return mail might fail. Now, I have no idea if those papers exist. Albena died March 05, 2002.

For those who many not know, Leo was a writer for the iron magazines and he wrote his two volume history on Anvils, Horseshoes, and Cannons, The History of Strongmen,

October 10, 2016 was the day that our pal Reuben Weaven was buried. Reuben was his own man, and what a man he was! Wonderful family man, student of iron history and of his local football team. Composer of a MILO Barbell history pamphlet.

  Montel Torbit, Joe Hise's brother-in-law. I spoke with Montel's daughter,
        Barbara Wilson Jan 27, 1986:
        Montel lives at Greenbriar Nursing Home, Champaign, Il, is age 78,
        has Parkinson's disease. Nickname "Fat". Brother's name is Alonzo
        Montel: Montel lived: Nov 25, 1907 to Oct 11, 1989
