November 12, 1966 At the Mr. S.E. Britain contest, how old was winner Albert Beckles: 28 or 34. I say 28. Only much later did he age 8 years in one year so that to retrofit an older age would require 34 to be the correct answer.

Then near the end of Sergio's Oliva's life, it was claimed he also was several years older than what we thought.

Then near the end of Sergio's Oliva's life, it was claimed he also was several years older than what we thought.

Roy Calleder, in his interview with John Hansen, spoke about Beckles being famous before him in their common homeland.

Callender was born in 1946, a year older than Arnold.

I'm thinking your guess of Beckles' birthdate in 1938 is about right.

Speculation: Mike's statistically early death intuitively [MPOV] appeared connected to his training---he had the shuffle and stiff body (no neck turn for example) of a much older man. The internal consequences of training/drugs likely (my speculation) mirrored the external manifestations of ageing.

more likely to have been the smoking + genetic predisposition + speed

Mikes father died of heart disease (I think thats what I read in one of his articles ) , Mike was an idiot to smoke with those genetics

my father died at 43 even younger then Mike he was a smoker and wouldnt have known a steroid if a truck full of them fell onto his head

smoking causes oxidation which ages the blood system , this also causes the accelerated biological ageing'

btw this is not the nicotine its the delivery mechanism'

Mike was one of the most stupid "smart guys " who ever walked the planet

Liam,

I can't discount or disagree w/ the negative impact of smoking and genetics, but I'm still stuck w/ the "shuffling" walk and lack of flexibility; I remain suspicious that the heavy training had something to do w/ that.

Yes maybe some kind of nerve degeneration

tell me Ken , what was the real story with Ray ?

he passed soon after his brother , what was the actual cause and had he been sick for long?

that double tragedy was very strange
