Yes they are indeed- not sure how that wording came out as it did- but thank you for the correction!

2005

Ten years ago today one of the best known names among iron game collectors passed away.

Angelo Iuspa died. Many members, including me, of our forum bought magazines and books from Angelo. His prices were always fair, his service fast, his word reliable.

If you have a kind memory of Angelo how about sharing it here?

Everything you said was exactly as I remember dealing with him.

His prices seem even better now in retrospect. Newark was probably a more expensive place to live than

all of the many places I have lived.

I did meet Angelo at an AOBS gathering. I had done business with him previously. I reminded him, that he had given me a Ring magazine that had my picture in it,and didn't charge me. He was a very nice man.

2002: Just short of 25.5 years on the job at York Barbell Company, Jan Dellinger's job there was 'abolished'.

Jan is one of the most major minor players in the game- by that I mean this compliment: He is not as well known to the average follower of the game, but to insiders he is well known, and well respected. I was pleased to see him get some coverage in John Fair's new book.

He is also an honorable man. Those are rare.

Jan 18:

1977 The movie 'Pumping Iron' opened at New York's Plaza Theater.

The sociological impact of this film, and the carryover crossover value it had that tagged bodybuilding into mainstream consciousness, should not be underestimated.
