Joe Roark 5,792
Sixty of our 'members' have been deleted.MOST- notice this please- MOST of these are people who joined (for example) on April 10 and that was their last visit here. So, probably, they joined, looked around, determined this was not what they expected, and did not return. Such members will not even know they have been removed unless they try to re-visit.Others joined for about one week's worth of action- some of these were writers whom I suspect were searching for info (if so do not hold your breath expecting to get credit as the source), found or didn't find what they wanted, and never came back. You will notice a few members who are now deceased who I show as active. This is my way of showing respect that their contributions will live on here.Other members were removed because they refused to participate even though it is well known they have the resources, if not the inclination to do so. About these members I have received complaints in this regard. My goal is to keep active members happy, not to be a reference center for people who could help us but refuse to.Please understand that this removal has nothing to do with anger or vengeance, but is a simple housekeeping matter to maintain a membership worthy of that name. Also I have a favor to ask of remaining members. Do not mention this website to anyone who has a shallow interest in history.

Dale Credico 2,259
Well then, now it seems our corn and puns will carry on beyond our years. I've been studying the subtleties of word combinations a wee bit lately. Did that first sentence have you thinking of porn and that other unmentionable?Seriously, Joe, I like your idea of keeping those posts to show respect for what was contributed. Always worth another look. RIP.I was hoping to have a photo of his gravesite, but so far none has arrived.
